Cromulent Productions presents...

BEING JUMAANE JEFFRIES

Rated V... starts Monday!

J-dog (c. 1996) - the universal nickname, everybody uses it.

Ajuma318 (c. 1997) - My Yahoo! E-mail address name. Derived from Akuma, the Street Fighter character whose Japanese "Raging Demon" symbol I incorporate just about everywhere. 318 is my birthday (March 18, 1980). Yeah, I'm a Pisces... which explains alot...

mOOn gOd (31 Jan 1999) - my official TEP name. I received it after my housemates determined that I was from space. But why the moon? No one thinks that I'm from that far away, I suppose. The following names, Lunar Lightning, mOOnWaX (heralded social chair of TEP) Lunar Lexicon, and (-sniff-)... Lunar Loner are derivations of that name.

Syntactic Sugar Daddy (Mar 1999) - so given for my mastery of the Scheme computer programming language. OK, so I only got a B+ in the class, but hey, when you got it, you got it. (Actually the name was self-given.)

Professor Edward Crawley (Mar 1999) - beginning last spring, as part of a National Society of Black Engineers activity, I taught weekly classes in physics to middle school students from the Cambridge area. I suppose my kids stole a name from an MIT bulletin board and granted me the identity...

TritonX36 (spring break 1999) - my ICQ name. Derived from mOOn gOD, Triton is the largest moon of Neptune... and 36 is, I guess, 6^2, and derived from the 36 chambers of the Wu-Tang.

Alluro55 (spring break, 1999) - my AOL Instant Messenger name. Alluro is a member of the Lunataks -- the more recent enemies of the ThunderCats -- who could mesmerize and entrance his enemies. 55? Well, I'm not obliged to explain...

Mr. Platonic (1999?) - my Mystery Man alias. I am noted for my amazing powers of platonicity. Well... you see... it's just that... whenever I approach a woman, no matter what my intentions are, well, it just turns out... well, she just never sees me as... oh damn...

Kung-Fu Grip Warlock (fall 1999) - my official Wu-Tang name. Why? I don't know...

Nubian Samurai, or "El Samurai Nubiano Casanova" (6 Feb 2000) - my current zsig, also what my name would be if I had been a part of the Dramashop production, "Ethnographic Museum of Irrelevant Races." Believe me, due to, among other things, my personality, my hip-hop background, slight Spanish fluency, and embrace of Asian popular culture, I deserve to be part of such a thing.

Soupy (2 Mar 2000) - Helena Fu's spontaneous random nickname for me. I don't know why. I don't even know if this is the right spelling!!! I don't even know if this is valid!!!

Well, hey, I am sometimes capable of being me as well... down to earth if I absolutely have to be...
