Taking place in Ikebukuro's Sunshine City, this was Japan's first EVER anime convention directed geared toward the fans, a cross-cultural exchange of Miyazaki-style epic proportions... but no Miyazaki? Among those who crossed the vast ocean for the occasion: then MIT Anime Club president Sean Leonard (to my right)!

On this trip to Odaiba I introduced Angel to the Japan he knew and probably was freaked out by, in a world of futuristic metal contraptions and... toys. This was actually my second Wonderfest, but my first while equipped with a digicam... Will I make it back in time for my third???

Here we go again... The hustle and bustle of this giant anime market in Odaiba had slowed down by Sunday, but it was impressive nonetheless. If only I hadn't been chasing cherry blossoms and "destiny" the day before... Somewhat ironic, in a sense...
